Frequently asked questions

Do typing games actually improve your speed?

Some do. The ones that help share three properties: immediate feedback on every keystroke, difficulty that tracks your current ability, and high repetition of the patterns you are weakest at. Games heavy on reading and light on typing mostly pass time.

Are games better than structured lessons?

They are better at keeping you coming back, which matters more than most people expect — frequency drives motor learning. For fixing a specific weakness, focused drilling is far more efficient.

Do game scores affect my typing statistics?

No. Games earn XP, unlock achievements and keep your daily streak alive, but their results are stored separately from your test history. The average WPM on your statistics page reflects real tests only, so an evening of Word Rain never rewrites it.

Do I need an account to save progress?

No. Scores and streaks are stored in your own browser, with no account and no server involved.
